NOUAKCHOTT FISH MARKET

The waters off the coast of Mauritania are some of the richest in the world and therefore fish is one of the major export of the country and the fish market on the coast in the western part of Nouakchott is the best place to see how it works this important industry. One of the largest of its kind in Western Africa, it is an incredibly lively and extremely colorful market, with dozen of colorful boats reaching the coast and teams of porters, mostly Wolof and Fula people from neighbouring countries, hurrying back and forth with trays of fish.

It's one of the most photogenic situations in Mauritania but sometimes taking pictures it's not easy because not everybody want to be taken pictures, but if you keep a low profile and ask for it politely, you may be able to get some good click.
